Engagements

This marks beginning of the rest of your lives, together.

What a unique time to celebrate and cherish as you head into a new chapter of your lives together! Engagement shoots with me are like a practice round for your big day. We get to hang out, get to know each other, explore, and get comfortable in front of the camera. Action prompts are a go-to for engagement sessions to really help you have fun and show that love and candid, real emotion in your photos.

Wondering what to wear to your session?

I always give my couples a few tips:

1. Avoid super busy patterns for both of you. If one of you wears a pattern, the other should wear a solid color. For example, a flannel shirt and a solid sweater, a floral dress and a solid shirt. Or both of you wearing a solid color works well also! You don't need to match--think about colors that compliment each other!

2. Avoid neon colors and clothing with words on them. Earth tones, jewel tones, neutrals, and denim look great on camera. Texture in your clothing is always welcome and so is layering. Feel free to wear something with movement like a dress or skirt, or an item that you can remove or put on to change the feel of what you're wearing.

3. Wear something you can move in and shoes that you are comfortable walking in. We are going to be walking a bit, and a lot of the poses I like to use with my couples involve lots of movement! Make sure you feel comfortable in your clothes and shoes!

4. Wear things that make you feel beautiful and confident. That’s the most important tip out of all of these! Everything else is just fluff. I want you to feel amazing for your photos because that is the goal!
